A team of runners from local print and mail business, CFH Docmail, took part in the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd of March in aid of The Forever Friends Appeal’s Cancer Care Campaign and have raised a staggering £1,750.00.
CFH Docmail had a team of ten dedicated runners, including; David Broadway, Karen Broadway, Abigail Broadway, Joseph Broadway, Paul Riddle, Lee Paisey, Spencer Cowing, Kelly Stokes, David Stokes and Julie-Anne Saget. The runners from CFH Docmail, joined what is known as Ted’s Team, and will be presenting the cheque to Big Ted, mascot for the charity on Monday 18th March at 3pm.
The Forever Friends Appeal’s RUH Cancer Care Campaign aims to raise a minimum of £5 million over the next 4 years to go towards building a pioneering new Cancer Centre for the Royal United Hospital in Bath. The Appeal, which was thrilled to have been selected as the official 2013 Featured Appeal for the race, received an overwhelming amount of support from runners, with the total number of Ted’s Team members reaching over 200. Kate Bruhl, Corporate Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal, comments: “We are thrilled to have the involvement of local businesses such as CFH Docmail. The support they have provided for the Cancer Care Campaign is fabulous. CFH Docmail is one of several companies in Bath and the surrounding areas that ran for The Forever Friends Appeal, and it is wonderful to have the involvement from these companies.”
David Broadway, Managing Director at CFH Docmail, was included in the team of runners, commenting: “CFH Docmail is so proud to be working with Ted’s Team again this year with our team of runners in the Bath Half Marathon. As a local business to the Royal United Hospital, and an employer of 200 people at our print and mail site in Radstock, the work the charity does is essential for our community. Cancer affects so many people and has also sadly affected several of our staff and their families at CFH, making it even more reason for us to support this fantastic organisation.”
The new Cancer Centre aims to balance clinical expertise with the provision of a nurturing and therapeutic environment. The new Centre will be a joint NHS / charitably funded project with the parties contributing 75% / 25% respectively towards the total building cost of £20.5 million.
